Watchfinder is hiring a Sales and Purchasing Advisor in New York to manage pre‑owned luxury watch sales, acquisitions and client relationships.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on purchases and trade‑ins of pre‑owned luxury watches, delivering a personalised, high‑touch sales experience for HNW customers.
  • Source, appraise and acquire pre‑owned inventory through walk‑in sellers, consignments and targeted sourcing initiatives.
  • Authenticate watches, assess condition and grade wear, identify service/repair needs and prepare items for resale in accordance with company standards.
  • Negotiate purchase terms and pricing with private sellers and consignors, ensuring margin and inventory quality targets are met.
  • Manage inventory records and listings across the company’s e‑commerce channels and in‑store systems; coordinate photography and product descriptions with merchandising teams.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships through proactive outreach, clienteling and post‑sale follow‑up to drive repeat business.
  • Collaborate with repair, refurbishment and operations teams to ensure timely turnarounds and accurate representation of provenance and service history.
  • Represent the brand at events, trunk shows and external buying appointments when required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable knowledge of luxury watch brands, movements and secondary‑market pricing; ability to identify counterfeit indicators.
  • Proven sales track record in luxury retail or pre‑owned watch jewellery, with comfort selling to high‑net‑worth individuals.
  • Strong numeracy and negotiation skills with experience executing purchases and managing margins.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; polished client‑facing presence and discretion handling confidential transactions.
  • Legal right to work in the United States and flexibility to work retail hours including evenings and weekends.
