Jewellery Quality Controller

Role & Responsibilities
- Perform systematic inspections of finished jewellery and intermediate components against technical drawings, quality standards and customer specifications.
- Execute visual and instrumental checks (loupe/microscope, calipers, micrometer) for dimensions, finish, stone setting, polish and overall conformity.
- Identify, document and categorize non-conformities; issue rejection/acceptance reports and trace corrective actions until closure.
- Coordinate with production, gemmology and finishing teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of parts in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and update inspection criteria, control plans and work instructions as needed.
- Contribute to training of workshop personnel on quality expectations, measurement techniques and defect prevention.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or technical qualification in jewellery-making, gemmology or a related trade (e.g., CAP/BEP/technical certificate).
- Professional certification or formal training in gemmology is highly desirable.
- Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity; comfortable working under microscopes and with small components.
- Solid understanding of precious metal standards, hallmarking and gem characteristics.
- Proven ability to produce clear inspection documentation and to drive corrective actions through to resolution.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience in quality control or inspection within a jewellery manufacturing or ateliers environment, with demonstrated exposure to precious metals and gemstones.
Education
Vocational qualification in jewellery-making, gemmology diploma or equivalent technical certification.
