Van Cleef & Arpels seeks a Boutique Director in Chicago to lead the boutique, drive sales and cultivate VIP client relationships.

Role & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Chicago boutique, ensuring alignment with global brand standards and local market strategy.
- Drive sales performance and margin through target-setting, forecasting, and rigorous performance management of the boutique P&L.
- Cultivate and expand a high-value client base through personalised clienteling, VIP service, and bespoke appointment programs.
- Recruit, develop and mentor boutique staff; establish coaching routines, sales training and career progression pathways to retain top talent.
- Oversee visual merchandising, window presentation and in-store storytelling to preserve the maison’s aesthetic and elevate conversion.
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, loss-prevention measures and adherence to compliance, security and cash-handling procedures.
- Plan and execute in-store events, private viewings and collaborations with local partners to strengthen brand presence and client engagement.
- Liaise with regional and corporate teams (merchandising, marketing, client services) to implement product launches, marketing initiatives and CRM strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership in luxury retail or haute joaillerie with demonstrable results in sales growth and team development.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing a boutique P&L, forecasting and achieving sales targets.
- Exceptional client relationship skills with a track record of developing and retaining high-net-worth clientele.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation abilities; astute judgement in client hospitality and discretionary decision-making.
- Impeccable standards of professionalism, confidentiality and brand representation in a luxury environment.
Skills
Experience
Typically requires 5+ years in luxury retail with at least 3 years in a managerial role responsible for a boutique or flagship store, preferably within high jewellery, watches or comparable luxury categories.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality, Fashion or related discipline preferred; advanced study or executive education in luxury retail is advantageous.
