Role & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, plan and execute repairs and restorations on high‑end jewellery (resizing, soldering, prong repair, re‑setting stones, polishing and finishing).
  • Perform precision stone setting, micro‑soldering and metalwork consistent with maison standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct rigorous quality control and cosmetic finishing to guarantee aesthetic and structural integrity of each piece.
  • Document interventions in the after‑sales system, prepare technical estimates and liaise with boutique teams and clients to communicate status and timelines.
  • Maintain workshop tools, equipment and inventory; ensure compliance with safety, conservation and anti‑theft procedures.
  • Coordinate with external specialist ateliers (gemmology, engraving, plating) when required and mentor junior bench staff.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in jewellery bench work or equivalent (CAP/BEP in bijouterie, vocational diploma or recognised bench jeweller certification).
  • Proven expertise in traditional jewellery techniques: soldering, stone setting, ring sizing and polishing.
  • Understanding of precious metals, gem mounting and material conservation appropriate to high‑jewellery pieces.
  • Strong manual dexterity, acute visual acuity and a meticulous approach to finishing and detail.
  • Fluency in French and/or other languages is an asset for client interaction and cross‑border coordination.

Experience

Minimum three years of bench experience in jewellery repair and restoration, preferably within a luxury or haute‑joaillerie environment or an accredited atelier. Experience handling high‑value stones and complex multi‑element pieces is expected.

Education

Diploma or vocational qualification in jewellery making/bench work (CAP/BEP or equivalent) or completion of a recognised apprenticeship in jewellery craftsmanship.
