Role & Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and maintain CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines (3-, 4- and 5-axis), ensuring parts meet engineering specifications and company quality standards.
- Perform machine changeovers, install workholding fixtures, establish datum offsets and perform tool touch‑off procedures with appropriate tool compensation and wear offsets.
- Monitor machine performance and production quotas; evaluate and act upon machine alarms, error messages and wear conditions on cutting tools.
- Use MDI and assist with program edits; support CNC programming activities and implement alternative tooling or process approaches as needed.
- Inspect finished parts against blueprints and work instructions; perform deburring, chip cleaning and operate secondary/special purpose machines as required.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues, identify root causes and resolve problems independently or in consultation with programmers and facilities.
- Train, mentor and cross‑train CNC operators and junior machinists; document and recommend revisions to work order routings, work instructions and quality inspection documentation.
- Participate in new product development activities and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands‑on machining experience on CNC equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Related degree or college‑level manufacturing certification (or equivalent vocational training).
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and written work instructions.
- Proven capacity to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment and to work overtime as scheduled.

Experience
Minimum of 8 years of progressive machining experience operating and programming CNC lathes and multi‑axis mills in a production environment; experience with precision parts for jewellery or watch components is highly relevant.
Education
Related degree or college‑level manufacturing certification, or equivalent combination of technical education and practical experience.
