Role & Responsibilities

  • Undertake a structured vocational apprenticeship in electronics with hands-on training in assembly, soldering and testing of electronic devices and circuit boards.
  • Build, install and commission timing, measurement and embedded systems used at sporting events; prepare and verify equipment prior to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults using diagnostic instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope) and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Support field deployments at national and international events, including on-site setup, configuration and technical assistance under event conditions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, test results and configuration changes; adhere to quality, safety and calibration procedures.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or equivalent; technical-vocational orientation preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail; aptitude for electronics and technical systems.
  • Willingness to travel and to work at events, sometimes outside regular business hours.
  • Commitment to completing a multi-year vocational training programme and to practical, team-based learning.

Experience

No prior professional experience required; previous hobbyist or school-level experience with electronics, model construction or technical workshops is advantageous. The position is designed for candidates beginning vocational training.

Secondary school diploma or equivalent (e.g., Realschulabschluss); technical or vocational coursework is a plus.
