Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering, business-process mapping and solution design for SAP FI/CO to meet finance and accounting needs across Canadian operations.
  • Configure and maintain core SAP FI/CO components (GL, AP, AR, AA, Bank Accounting, CO) and ensure correct integration with other SAP modules and downstream systems.
  • Act as the principal liaison between finance stakeholders and IT/technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Drive system testing activities including unit testing, integration testing and lead user acceptance testing (UAT); manage defect resolution and change requests.
  • Support month‑end and statutory close processes through configuration, troubleshooting and process optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain process, configuration and user documentation; deliver training and change‑management support to finance users.
  • Participate in upgrades, patches and migration projects (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA), including impact analysis and cutover planning.
  • Provide second‑/third‑line support for SAP FI/CO incidents and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality and system performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) or equivalent finance certification is strongly preferred.
  • SAP FICO functional certification or demonstrable certification/track record in SAP finance implementations.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, statutory reporting and finance processes in a multinational manufacturing or retail context.
  • Proven stakeholder management, communication and change‑management capabilities in cross‑functional projects.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience with SAP FI/CO, including at least 3 years in a business‑analyst or consultant role supporting finance teams in a multinational manufacturing or retail environment. Demonstrated experience on end‑to‑end implementations, upgrades or large‑scale support projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems or a related field; professional accounting designation (CPA) or SAP functional certification preferred.
