Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner strategically with Regional Directors, District Managers and Store Managers to align HR strategies with business objectives and lead change management initiatives.
  • Lead talent management activities including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, promotions and leadership coaching across the assigned retail region.
  • Design and implement employee engagement, retention and culture-building programs; analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, absenteeism) to inform data-driven actions.
  • Manage employee relations matters and investigations with confidentiality; ensure compliance with employment law, company policy, and leave/accommodation processes.
  • Coordinate and execute cyclical HR programs and cross-functional projects; provide training logistics support and contribute to process improvements.
  • Conduct regular market travel and store visits (approximately 25–40% travel within the assigned market).

Qualifications

  • Progressive HR Business Partner or HR generalist experience, preferably within retail or multi-unit operations.
  • Proven track record influencing leaders, driving change, and building strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, compliance, performance cycles, and succession planning.
  • Ability to analyze HR data and translate insights into clear recommendations and executive-level presentations.
  • Residency in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and ability to travel regionally 25–40%.

Experience

Progressive HR experience in HR Business Partner or generalist roles, ideally within retail or multi-unit environments; demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, influence leaders, manage complex employee relations matters, and support regional HR operations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred; HR certifications such as PHR/SPHR or SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP preferred.
