Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute asset protection strategies to reduce shrink, focusing on high-shrink stores.
  • Analyze asset protection activities and performance to identify improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with store and field leadership teams to address shrink issues with action plans.
  • Oversee store evaluations and asset protection programs.
  • Conduct training sessions on shrink awareness and asset protection strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with asset protection and operational procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Investigate internal dishonesty, fraud, or criminal acts following established procedures.
  • Utilize reporting systems and CCTV for case development and investigations.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop asset protection team members.
  • Conduct team meetings and one-on-one sessions for team growth and development.
  • Maintain relationships with field partners, including District Managers and Human Resources.
  • Collaborate on physical inventories and conduct root cause analysis to evaluate shrink results.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive asset protection/loss prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in handling sensitive asset protection issues ethically.
  • Understanding of criminal and civil law in the retail environment.

Skills

Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional organization, analytical, and auditing skills. Capability to formulate plans, policies, or procedures clearly and concisely. Proficiency with computer technology, including asset protection applications and MS Office. Formal training and certification in Wicklander-Zulawski interview techniques.

Experience

3-5 years of progressive asset protection/loss prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
