Sephora — New York City: Asset Protection Partner (Hourly $25–$29.50/hr) to protect store assets and ensure a safe client experience.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible, proactive presence on the sales floor (75–80% of shift) to deter theft, support sales teams and ensure client and employee safety.
  • Monitor and investigate loss incidents using CCTV and reporting tools; prepare audits and formal reports on asset protection activity.
  • Collaborate with store leadership and the District Asset Protection Manager to design and implement shrink‑reduction and safety initiatives.
  • Respond to incidents and de‑escalate conflicts professionally while preserving the client experience and prioritizing safety.
  • Adhere to all asset protection policies, licensing requirements and legal processes; represent the company and testify in court when required.
  • Support multiple store locations as needed and participate in meetings and trainings to reinforce safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years' experience in retail operations, loss prevention, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable ability to de‑escalate conflict and manage sensitive incidents with discretion and professionalism.
  • Comfortable operating CCTV systems and standard reporting tools; strong attention to detail for audits and documentation.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with store teams and leadership.
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Reliable punctuality and ability to meet the minimum weekly shift requirements for full‑time scheduling.

Experience

1–2 years of relevant experience in retail operations, loss prevention, hospitality or a related customer‑facing environment, with hands‑on exposure to security/CCTV monitoring, incident management and collaboration with store leadership.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training or certification in security, loss prevention or related fields is a plus.
