Rubattel & Weyermann (Swatch Group) seeks a Quality Assurance Manager in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Lead QA for precision dial manufacturing.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site quality assurance function, defining QA strategy and objectives aligned with Swatch Group standards.
  • Manage daily quality operations: incoming inspection, in-process controls, final product release and non-conformance handling.
  • Establish and maintain quality systems, procedures and documentation in compliance with applicable ISO and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven methods (SPC, KPIs) to reduce defects and improve yield.
  • Oversee root-cause analysis and corrective action processes (8D, FMEA), ensuring timely closure and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate internal and external quality audits, supplier quality management and qualification of new materials or processes.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and to support new product introductions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience managing a quality team in precision manufacturing; watchmaking industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards (ISO 9001) and practical deployment experience.
  • Proficiency in statistical quality methods (SPC), FMEA and structured problem-solving (8D, RCA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and manage supplier relationships.
  • Fluent French for workplace communication; professional working knowledge of English is desirable.

Experience

Several years (typically 5+) of progressive experience in quality assurance within precision manufacturing or component production, with a track record of leading QA teams and delivering measurable quality improvements; prior exposure to watchmaking or fine metal finishing is advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical diploma.
