Rolex in Geneva seeks a Microtechnology Intern to develop a mechanical wear reference for watch bracelets — 3-month internship in mechanical testing and metrology.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical ageing and wear tests on watch bracelets and associated components.
  • Develop and refine test protocols and standard operating procedures for accelerated wear trials.
  • Conduct precise measurements and visual/technical observations during and after tests.
  • Process, analyse and document test data; present findings and recommendations to the engineering team.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure adherence to test quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a technical diploma or degree program (Technician ES, vocational diploma or equivalent) in microtechnology, mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven computer literacy and comfort with data capture and digital documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of metrology and measurement techniques is an advantage.
  • Demonstrates rigour, pragmatism and autonomy in laboratory tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; able to communicate results clearly.

Experience

Student-level internship: no specific professional experience required. Prior practical laboratory experience, internships in microtechnique or exposure to mechanical testing/metrology are advantageous.
