HVAC and Building Automation Technician

Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure the operation and performance of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and sanitary installations across the Fribourg sites.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and sanitary systems.
- Diagnose technical faults and execute appropriate corrective interventions.
- Manage and respond to technical alarms via the supervision/BMS tool.
- optimise regulation loops and parameters to improve system performance and energy efficiency.
- Conduct measurement and balancing campaigns for hydraulic and aeraulic installations.
- Participate in functional testing of critical system interlocks and automations.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to guarantee quality and safety of interventions.
- Oversee a team of service providers responsible for CV maintenance.
- Prepare technical descriptions and small specifications / scopes of work for technical projects.
- Manage procurement of materials and consumables required for maintenance and repair works.
- Provide 24/7 technical on-call coverage for HVAC/BMS according to the team rota.
Qualifications
- CFC (apprenticeship certificate) as heating or sanitary installer, ideally complemented by a Technicien ES (Higher Technical Diploma) in building services or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience in maintenance of complex HVAC (CVCS) installations, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Solid knowledge and practical use of centralized technical management systems (GTC/BMS) and associated parameterisation.
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and relevant technical software tools.
- High degree of rigour, autonomy and the ability to prioritise in a dynamic operational environment.
- Strong team spirit, service orientation and excellent communication skills when interacting with internal clients and external contractors.
Skills
Experience
Proven, hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting complex HVAC/CVCS systems, with practical exposure to BMS/GTC operation; industrial-sector experience is an advantage.
Education
CFC in heating or sanitary installation; ideally supplemented by a Technicien ES (Higher Technical Diploma) in building services or an equivalent recognised qualification.
