Role & Responsibilities
- Define manufacturing needs for components based on production plans, available stock, lead times, and stock policy.
- Create and deploy supply requirements via MRP to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives.
- Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Expedite or defer orders based on schedule or inventory changes to maintain production flow.
- Manage inter-company flow of materials between warehouse locations.
- Resolve purchase order issues related to invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality problems with suppliers.
- Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation, and material lead times.
- Set up and maintain material master system planning parameters.
- Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and new product development.
- Manage engineering changes to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure continuous supply.
- Build and maintain operational partnerships with assigned suppliers.
- Seek and develop new local suppliers for cost savings and reduced carbon footprint.
- Assess and manage supplier compliance with environmental standards.
- Coordinate supplier ramp-up and ramp-down for new product launches.
- Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with the Plant Scheduling team.
- Lead and participate in cost reduction initiatives by analyzing supplier and procurement processes.
- Collaborate with internal customers to provide high-level customer service and recommend solutions.
- Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, and material handling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supply chain role working for a direct manufacturer.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or German is an asset.
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS training preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPPB, or SCMP are an asset.
