Tech Team Lead

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver cloud-native, production-grade services and platform capabilities.
• Define technical direction and architecture decisions while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security and scalability requirements.
• Own delivery of sprint goals and roadmaps; collaborate with Product, Design and Ops to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and drive continuous improvement in CI/CD, testing, observability and incident response.
• Manage third‑party vendors and contractors as required; recruit, retain and develop technical talent within the team.
• Represent the engineering team in stakeholder forums, present technical trade-offs, and drive cross‑team integration for critical initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience with a record of building and scaling engineering teams.
• Strong command of software architecture principles for distributed systems and microservices.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms, containerisation and platform engineering practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to translate technical constraints to business audiences.
• Demonstrable focus on software quality, security, observability and operational excellence.

Skills

Experience

5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a minimum of 2 years in a people‑lead or technical lead role, preferably within enterprise or multi‑brand retail/commerce environments. Experience delivering cloud‑native platforms and operating production services at scale is expected.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Scrum Master) preferred.
