Student Internship (Career Orientation)

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

• Observe and assist master watchmakers and technicians in the workshop under direct supervision.
• Perform basic manual tasks assigned by supervisors (workplace preparation, component cleaning, simple assembly support) while adhering to cleanliness and safety protocols.
• Participate in introductory sessions on watch construction, finishing techniques and brand history.
• Follow shopfloor hygiene, tool care and occupational safety rules at all times.
• Document learning progress and produce a short written or oral report summarising experiences and insights.
• Support light logistical or administrative tasks related to production when required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in secondary school and seeking a short career‑orientation placement.
• Demonstrable interest in mechanical engineering, precision mechanics, crafts or technical trades.
• Good manual dexterity, fine motor control and ability to concentrate on detailed tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
• Basic German communication skills are advantageous for day‑to‑day interaction in the workshop.

Skills

Experience

No prior professional experience required. Relevant school projects, hobbyist mechanical work or craft experience are advantageous but not mandatory.

Education

Enrolled in secondary school (suitable for pupils seeking a short vocational orientation internship).
