Richemont seeks a Senior Legal Counsel in Bellevue, WA to provide commercial and IP legal support across the CHL and ALA regions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to business stakeholders across the CHL and ALA regional remit as identified in the role title, supporting commercial, retail and licensing operations.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including distribution, supply, service, licensing and collaboration agreements.
  • Counsel on intellectual property protection and enforcement, brand clearance, advertising and marketing initiatives to safeguard luxury brand assets.
  • Manage external counsel and oversee litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters; develop cost‑effective dispute resolution strategies.
  • Advise on compliance, competition/antitrust and data privacy issues relevant to the regions covered; support implementation of company policy and training.
  • Support corporate transactions and projects (M&A, joint ventures, restructurings) by conducting legal due diligence and drafting transaction documents where required.
  • Partner with commercial, retail, HR and finance teams to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risk, providing pragmatic, business‑oriented solutions.

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in at least one reputable jurisdiction (e.g., US bar or equivalent).
  • Juris Doctor (JD), LL.B. or equivalent legal degree; further qualifications or international legal training an advantage.
  • Demonstrable expertise in commercial contracts, IP, and compliance matters, ideally acquired in‑house or at a law firm serving consumer/luxury clients.
  • Proven ability to manage external counsel, litigated matters and multi‑jurisdictional projects.

Experience

Senior level — typically 7–10+ years of combined in‑house and/or law firm experience with substantial exposure to commercial, IP and regulatory matters. Prior experience advising luxury goods, retail or consumer brands is strongly preferred.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD), LL.B. or equivalent legal qualification; admission to practise in at least one relevant jurisdiction.
