Dunhill Retail Director — Tokyo: lead retail strategy, P&L and flagship operations for the luxury menswear brand in Tokyo.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the retail strategy for the Tokyo market to achieve sales, margin and market-share targets.
  • Own P&L for the assigned stores and implement pricing, inventory and promotional strategies to optimise profitability.
  • Lead, develop and coach store leadership and sales teams to elevate clienteling, conversion rates and luxury service standards.
  • Oversee store operations including visual merchandising, inventory control, loss prevention and customer experience consistency.
  • Collaborate with regional and global HQ teams (merchandising, marketing, e‑commerce and product) to localise launches and campaigns.
  • Monitor retail KPIs, produce regular performance reporting and make data-driven decisions to improve commercial results.
  • Manage recruitment, succession planning and performance management for the retail organisation in the territory.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in luxury retail leadership, with experience managing flagship or multi-store operations.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with experience owning store-level or regional P&L.
  • Strong leadership and people-development skills with experience building high-performing sales teams.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with merchandising, marketing and corporate teams to execute brand initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills at both local and corporate levels.

Experience

Extensive background in luxury retail, typically 8–12 years in retail with several years in senior management roles responsible for multiple stores or a flagship; experience in the Japanese market or comparable APAC markets is highly advantageous.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, fashion or a related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
