Maintenance Automation Technician
Richemont seeks a Maintenance Automation Technician in Villars-sur-Glâne, Switzerland — industrial automation, PLC/HMI maintenance and machine commissioning.

Role & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and maintain automated production equipment to ensure high availability and product quality.
- Program, modify and troubleshoot PLCs and HMI systems to optimise machine performance and resolve faults.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, regular inspections and corrective interventions according to established schedules and KPIs.
- Commission and validate new machines and automation systems in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics, maintain accurate technical documentation and maintenance logs.
- Perform root-cause analysis of recurring faults and implement lasting corrective actions.
- Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with external vendors for specialised repairs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and machine-safety regulations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Practical knowledge of PLC logic, HMI interfaces and industrial control systems.
- Proven ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams and perform systematic fault-finding.
- Familiarity with machine commissioning procedures and preventive maintenance methodologies.
- Valid electrical safety authorisation or equivalent (where required by local regulation) and strong commitment to workplace safety.

Experience
Typically 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment; experience with high-precision production or watchmaking-related processes is an advantage.
Education
Vocational diploma or technician certificate in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
