Richemont seeks a Jewelry Technician in Tokyo to perform high‑jewellery bench work, repairs and finishing in a luxury atelier.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform precision bench work on high‑end jewellery including soldering, resizing, polishing and finishing to maison quality standards.
  • Carry out stone setting and setting repairs (prong, bezel, pavé) and perform secure mounting of diamonds and coloured gemstones.
  • Execute laser welding and micro‑welding repairs, rhodium plating and surface treatments; operate and maintain plating and finishing equipment.
  • Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and aesthetic conformity; perform final quality control and documentation before return to client or boutique.
  • Diagnose repair requirements and provide clear technical estimates and turnaround time assessments for client services and sales teams.
  • Maintain workbench tooling and instrumentation (loupes, microscopes, calipers, micrometers); adhere to atelier safety and inventory procedures.
  • Collaborate with restoration, production and design teams to support bespoke and limited‑edition projects, following brand specifications and technical drawings.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in jewellery bench work, goldsmithing or a related craft.
  • Proven knowledge of precious metals (gold, platinum) and gemstone properties and handling techniques.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity and experience with micro‑welding/laser welding and a full range of bench techniques.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow strict brand quality standards and finishing specifications.
  • Professional communication skills and the capacity to work closely with client services, ateliers and boutiques.
  • Legal authorization to work in Japan (local work permit) is required.

Education

Diploma or apprenticeship in jewellery benchwork, goldsmithing, gemmology or equivalent vocational qualification.
