Richemont in Seoul seeks an Import/Export Specialist to manage customs, international shipments and trade compliance.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end import and export operations for high-value luxury goods, including preparation and verification of customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
  • Ensure compliance with Korean customs regulations, international trade laws and internal trade compliance policies; implement and maintain accurate tariff classifications (HS codes).
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers to secure timely clearance and optimized transit routes for air and sea shipments.
  • Calculate and manage duties, taxes, VAT and bonded inventory processes; liaise with finance to reconcile customs and landed-cost variances.
  • Maintain shipping and customs records in the ERP and assist with audit requests from customs authorities and internal compliance teams.
  • Own continuous improvement initiatives for import/export workflows, including cost optimisation, lead-time reduction and risk mitigation.
  • Interface with procurement, warehouse, distribution and commercial teams to align logistics with sales, product launches and store replenishment schedules.
  • Prepare regular operational reports and KPI tracking on clearance times, duty spend, delays and compliance incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in customs clearance, international freight or trade compliance — experience handling luxury or high-value goods preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of Korean customs procedures, HS nomenclature and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, bonded/temporary import regimes and duty deferral mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external logistics partners and to manage multiple shipments in parallel under tight timelines.

Experience

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in import/export operations, customs clearance or international logistics; prior exposure to luxury goods, high-value cargo or tightly regulated product categories is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent professional experience.
