Richemont (Cartier) seeks a Director, FP&A in New York to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial strategy for the brand.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end FP&A activities for Cartier in the assigned region — oversee annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making and margin optimisation.
  • Partner closely with commercial, merchandising and operations leadership to translate business plans into financial targets and actionable KPIs.
  • Own monthly and quarterly performance reporting, variance analysis and management commentary for senior executives and the Richemont finance centre of excellence.
  • Design and enhance FP&A processes, tools and dashboards to improve forecast accuracy, cycle time and transparency.
  • Manage, mentor and develop a small team of finance professionals, setting objectives and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive business partnering on pricing, promotions, inventory and capital allocation initiatives; support ad hoc commercial projects, business cases and M&A diligence as required.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders, aligning on priorities and resource trade-offs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance) preferred.
  • Professional qualification preferred (CFA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of FP&A best practices, financial modelling and management reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to translate data into strategic recommendations for retail and luxury product businesses.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience developing high-performing finance teams and influencing at senior levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to construct concise executive narratives and present complex analyses clearly.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP) and working capital dynamics typical of luxury retail.

Experience

Approximately 8+ years of progressive finance experience with a minimum of 3–5 years in an FP&A leadership role. Preferably demonstrated experience within luxury goods, retail, or consumer goods businesses and exposure to multi-channel commercial models and international reporting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar required; Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance) or professional accounting/finance qualification preferred.
