Commercial Director
Richemont (Chloé) seeks a Commercial Director in Tokyo to lead commercial strategy and P&L for the Maison in Japan.
Overview
Richemont is a Swiss luxury goods holding company that manages a portfolio of prestigious Maisons across jewellery, watchmaking, leather goods and fashion. The company fosters maison-level autonomy within a global group structure, combining heritage craftsmanship with international retail and wholesale networks. This role sits within the Chloé fashion house operating under Richemont's luxury portfolio in Japan.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Maison in Japan, aligning local objectives with global brand priorities.
- Lead P&L ownership, delivering top-line growth, margin improvement and disciplined cost management.
- Manage and develop the local commercial team, setting targets, KPIs and performance frameworks.
- Oversee wholesale and retail distribution, including key account management, partnership negotiations and channel strategy.
- Drive omnichannel commercial planning with inventory allocation, demand forecasting and stock optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with global merchandising, marketing, e‑commerce and operations teams to ensure consistent brand positioning and campaign execution.
- Develop pricing, promotion and markdown strategies adapted to the Japanese market and customer segments.
- Prepare regular commercial reporting and business reviews for regional and global stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership record in commercial roles within luxury fashion or accessories.
- Strong financial literacy with demonstrable P&L responsibility and commercial accountability.
- Experience managing wholesale and retail partnerships, including negotiation and contract management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence global stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical capability with experience in forecasting, inventory management and KPI-driven decision making.
Skills
Experience
Typically 8+ years in commercial roles within luxury fashion or premium retail, including several years of P&L and people management; prior experience working with regional or global brand teams and with wholesale networks is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Management or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
