Merchandising Manager
Purdey is hiring a Merchandising Manager in London to lead assortment planning, inventory strategy and commercial forecasting for the luxury brand.

Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute assortment and range plans across womenswear and accessories, ensuring alignment with seasonal strategies and commercial targets.
- Create and manage open-to-buy, inventory allocation and stock replenishment to optimise sell-through and minimise markdowns.
- Produce demand forecasts and weekly/monthly reporting to drive assortment decisions and purchasing cadence.
- Collaborate with design, buying, production and wholesale/retail teams to translate creative direction into commercially viable collections.
- Negotiate terms and lead commercial discussions with suppliers and third-party partners to secure favourable lead times, MOQs and pricing.
- Set pricing architecture and margin targets in coordination with Finance, and monitor P&L impact by category.
- Develop promotional and markdown strategies informed by sell-through analysis and lifecycle metrics.
- Own season close processes, post-season analysis and lessons-learned to refine future range architecture and forecasting accuracy.
- Mentor and line-manage junior merchandisers; establish KPIs and performance objectives for the merchandising team.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and team-management capability within a merchandising function.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable success driving margin, sell-through and inventory efficiency.
- Exceptional numerical literacy and attention to detail for forecasting, reporting and financial controls.
- Effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills across design, buying, suppliers and retail teams.
- Ability to synthesize market, trend and sales data into actionable assortment decisions.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 5 years' merchandising experience within luxury fashion or premium apparel, with at least 2 years in a managerial or senior merchandising role. Experience across wholesale and retail channels and working with international suppliers preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
