Moynat (Paris) seeks a Leather Goods Patternmaker & Prototypist — permanent on-site role for an experienced maroquinerie patternmaker.

Overview

Moynat is a Parisian luxury leather goods Maison celebrated for its artisanal trunk-making tradition and refined savoir‑faire. The house cultivates meticulous handcraftsmanship and design-led product development within an atelier environment that serves both heritage collections and contemporary accessories.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Workshop Manager and collaborate closely with stylists and the development team to realize new collections.
  • Interpret technical sketches and development requests, propose constructive assembly solutions aligned with industrialisation objectives, and produce prototypes for leather goods, small leather goods and accessories.
  • Draft templates and patterns (gabarits, patronages) and produce comprehensive technical dossiers including plans and manufacturing sequences.
  • Define and formalise the manufacturing operations (gamme opératoire) for each product.
  • Operate and contribute to the upkeep of atelier equipment: Refendeuse, Pareuse, flat and cylinder sewing machines (machine à coudre plate et canon), gluing booth (cabine d'encollage) and marking machine (machine à marquer).
  • Participate in collective atelier initiatives such as training, tutoring, technical watch, inventories and demonstrations of technique.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training in leather goods (maroquinerie) or equivalent professional formation.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands‑on experience in patternmaking and prototyping within leather goods.
  • Demonstrated autonomy, rigor and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proactive problem‑solving aptitude and adaptability in a fast‑paced atelier context.
  • Proficiency with MOZART software, Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in modélisme and prototyping specifically within leather goods/maroquinerie, acquired in an atelier or product development setting.

Education

Diploma or professional qualification in maroquinerie/leather goods, or equivalent vocational training; significant demonstrable atelier experience accepted in lieu of formal qualification.
