Payroll Specialist
Montblanc seeks a Payroll Specialist in Hamburg to manage German payroll operations, compliance and reporting for its local workforce.

Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end payroll processing for employees in Germany, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, statutory deductions and benefits administration.
- Ensure full compliance with German payroll legislation, tax requirements (Lohnsteuer) and social security contributions (Sozialversicherung).
- Maintain and update payroll master data and employee records in the payroll system; coordinate monthly and year‑end closing activities and reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit statutory filings, social insurance reports and ad‑hoc payroll-related returns; liaise with authorities and external advisors as required.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance and external payroll providers to resolve payroll queries, support audits and implement process improvements.
- Produce payroll reports and management information for month‑end reporting and forecasting; support budget and cost-control activities.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payslips, tax certificates and payroll-related benefits with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Support implementation and optimisation of payroll systems and process automation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Deep working knowledge of German payroll legislation, tax and social security contributions.
- Relevant vocational qualification in business administration, accounting, payroll or HR; bachelor’s degree in business, finance or human resources preferred.
- Demonstrable track record of handling confidential payroll data with integrity and discretion.
- Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail and commitment to meeting strict deadlines.

Experience
Typically 3+ years of hands‑on payroll experience within Germany, ideally within an international or multi‑entity organisation; experience with system implementations or payroll outsourcing is advantageous.
Education
Vocational training in business administration/accounting or HR; bachelor’s degree in business, finance or human resources preferred.
