Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the integrated HSE management system with particular responsibility for fire protection (Brandschutz) and duties as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (SiFa).
- Conduct and oversee workplace risk assessments (Gefährdungsbeurteilungen) and implement corrective and preventive measures across production and office sites.
- Develop, update and enforce fire safety strategies, evacuation plans, fire‑technical documentation and emergency response protocols.
- Plan, deliver and document HSE and fire safety training programmes for employees, managers and contractors; drive cultural engagement on safety topics.
- Perform incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and statutory reporting; track remediation actions to closure and communicate learnings to stakeholders.
- Ensure legal compliance with German occupational safety and fire protection regulations; act as primary contact for authorities, insurers and external auditors.
- Coordinate contractor safety, site inspections and periodic audits; compile management reports and KPIs for senior leadership.
- Advise project teams on technical requirements for new installations, relocations and facility modifications to ensure HSE by design.
Qualifications
- Certified Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (SiFa) qualification — statutory accreditation or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Proven expertise as a Brandschutzbeauftragter or equivalent responsibility for fire protection planning and implementation.
- Solid knowledge of German occupational safety and fire protection legislation and standards (e.g., ArbSchG, DGUV regulations, ASR, TRGS).
- Relevant technical education (e.g., safety engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable vocational/professional training).
- Strong communicative competence with experience delivering training and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Valid authorization to liaise with local authorities and to represent the company in regulatory inspections.
Skills
Experience
Several years (typically 3–5+) of progressive experience in occupational health & safety with demonstrable responsibility for fire protection; prior experience in manufacturing, production or a regulated commercial environment preferred.
Education
Degree or vocational qualification in occupational safety, engineering or a related technical discipline; formal certification as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (SiFa) is required or must be attainable.
