Montblanc in Hamburg is hiring a Controller to manage financial close, budgeting and analysis for the business unit.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities; prepare reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger balances.
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis versus budget and forecast; translate financial results into actionable insights for commercial and product teams.
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles; consolidate inputs from business units and maintain rolling forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting and KPIs for business steering, including dashboards and board-level deliverables.
  • Support pricing, margin and cost analyses; partner with procurement, supply chain and sales to monitor product and channel profitability.
  • Drive process improvements in controlling and reporting, including automation initiatives and ERP/reporting tool optimisations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and group reporting requirements; liaise with internal and external auditors as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; advanced degree or professional accounting qualification preferred (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Solid technical knowledge of management accounting, cost accounting and financial consolidation principles.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into concise management insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with experience interacting with commercial teams and senior stakeholders.

Skills

SAP FI/CO Microsoft Excel (advanced) Microsoft PowerPoint Power BI (or equivalent BI tools) Financial consolidation / reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream — desirable)

Experience

Several years (typically 3+ years) of hands-on controlling or financial reporting experience in an international corporate environment; experience in luxury goods, retail, manufacturing or consumer goods is highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; Master's degree or professional accounting certification preferred.
