Role & Responsibilities
- Drive business development, sales, and ambassadorial support for Fine Wine brands in collaboration with MHWE APAC and MHD China.
- Communicate and execute strategies to enhance brand desirability through tailored distribution and customer engagement.
- Align with local teams to accelerate distribution via pitching, engagement, and sales collaboration.
- Implement and manage internal training on the MHWE Fine Wine portfolio.
- Support brand activations with the Brand Activation Team to deliver commercial targets and ROI.
- Build strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, outlets, and key trade stakeholders; provide training to deepen fine wine knowledge.
- Develop and execute a tasting and events calendar to increase visibility with trade, consumers, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Strengthen customer relationships and distribution opportunities by being active in the market with MHD China sales teams.
- Drive advocacy by engaging sommeliers, outlets, and key opinion leaders to boost brand exposure.
- Educate consumers through tastings and events to enhance appreciation of fine wines.
- Monitor trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities in the Chinese wine market.
- Provide reports to MHD China on sales opportunities, insights, and recommendations for MHWE Fine Wines.
- Support commercial projects aligned with Maison and market priorities.
- Share regular updates with MHWE and Maisons on trade/consumer engagement, performance drivers, and competitor activity, with action recommendations.
- Facilitate and manage market tours for Maison and regional guests, integrating trade, media, and consumer activities.
Qualifications
- University degree
- Proficient wine knowledge (minimum WSET level 2)
- Minimum 8 years working in the wines & spirits industry
- Knowledge of the Chinese wine market, including consumer preferences, distribution channels, and regulatory requirements
- Proven business acumen with a strategic mindset
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
- Willingness to travel frequently within China and occasionally internationally
