Moët & Chandon in Epernay, France, seeks a Viticultural Development Intern for a 6-month full-time internship starting June 2025. Enhance grape sorting algorithms and train teams in optical sorting technology.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Enhance the grape sorting algorithm to recognize additional grape diseases such as powdery mildew and sour rot, in collaboration with external partners.
  • Train and raise awareness among teams regarding the use of optical sorting technology prior to harvest.
  • Integrate the optical sorting solution operationally during the harvest across Moët & Chandon's four presses, ensuring immediate result feedback, efficient grape flow management, and ease of use.
  • Analyze harvest data, compile reports, and present findings, particularly validating the algorithm's effectiveness on new traits and suggesting corrective actions if necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Master's degree in a scientific field.
  • Knowledge of agronomy and viticulture.

Skills

Proficiency in image analysis or artificial intelligence. Mastery of coding and annotation tools, with a strong interest in statistical tools and data processing. Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive, meticulous, organized, and responsive.

Experience

No prior experience required, suitable for beginners.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Master's degree in a scientific field.
