Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the Employee Relations strategy across EMEA retail and corporate channels, ensuring alignment with the Retail People Strategy and commercial objectives.
  • Manage high‑risk and high‑profile ER cases and lead complex workplace investigations, partnering closely with Loss Prevention, Legal and external counsel where required.
  • Line‑manage and develop a regional team of ER specialists who partner with store and district management on sensitive people matters.
  • Provide pragmatic, legally informed advice on policy interpretation, disciplinary and termination documentation, grievances, flexible working, harassment and discrimination cases to mitigate legal and reputational risk.
  • Oversee ER case management processes and tools, conduct audits to ensure consistent application, and maintain accurate records for compliance.
  • Leverage ER metrics and data to identify trends, produce reporting and proactive interventions that improve engagement and reduce organisational risk.
  • Lead ER activity for change programmes, restructurings and new market openings, including consultation planning and execution.
  • Design and deliver manager and employee training to build ER capability (e.g., harassment, discrimination, performance management) and upskill line managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role covering multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven track record managing complex and high‑profile employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior leadership and operational teams.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead change programmes and influence outcomes while balancing commercial and legal risk.
  • Strong knowledge of multi‑jurisdictional employment law and ER best practice.

Experience

Minimum 10+ years in Human Resources, including at least 5 years in a managerial capacity supporting multiple jurisdictions; extensive experience managing complex ER cases and leading regional teams in a retail or multinational context.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or related field; professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD or equivalent) preferred.
