Men's Knitwear Designer
Michael Kors seeks a Men's Knitwear Designer in the New York Metro Area. Full-time role designing fully fashioned sweaters for mainline and outlet.

Role & Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product design process for men's mainline and outlet knitwear, including trend research, concept development and seasonal storytelling.
- Source and specify yarns from Italian and Asian mills, balancing price point, specialist attributes and sustainability requirements.
- Develop stitch constructions, seasonal knits and trims that align with the Michael Kors aesthetic and commercial strategy.
- Produce design materials: sketches, design boards, CADs, tech packs, BOMs and development packages for proto and showroom samples.
- Enter and maintain detailed technical packages and trim BOMs in the PLM system to enable accurate sample development.
- Lead fittings with technical design and production teams and drive fit approvals with support from the Design Director.
- Present seasonal concepts and individual design proposals to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising, product development, technical design and overseas agents to ensure global alignment and timely development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Textile Design; specialization in fully fashioned sweater design preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of fully fashioned sweater design experience in menswear.
- Expert design and conceptual abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Advanced sketching skills and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Comprehensive understanding of technical knitting capabilities, yarn construction, machine gauge and garment construction.
- Proven experience using PLM systems and producing precise tech packs and BOMs.

Minimum of 5+ years of fully fashioned sweater design experience in menswear, with proven delivery across mainline and outlet assortments and experience working with international mills and cross-functional teams.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Textile Design; specialization in fully fashioned sweaters preferred.
