Power BI Specialist

Role & Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the end-to-end Power BI ecosystem: data ingestion, modelling, report development, deployment and operational monitoring.
• Administer the Power BI Service environment — manage workspaces, access control, refresh schedules, gateways and governance.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance data models using star schema principles and performance optimisation techniques.
• Develop intuitive, visually compelling dashboards and executive reports tailored to Retail, Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, E‑commerce and Marketing.
• Author and optimise complex DAX measures and calculations to ensure consistent KPIs and business logic across reports.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into reporting solutions and provide actionable insights.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying automation opportunities, improving data quality with Data Engineering/IT and recommending Power BI feature enhancements.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining Microsoft Power BI reports and datasets.
• Proven expertise in data modelling (star schema, relationship design and performance optimisation).
• Advanced DAX authoring and optimisation skills.
• Experience administering Power BI Service including workspaces, gateways and role-based security.
• Solid SQL proficiency and a practical understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and managing competing priorities with strong stakeholder communication.
• Desirable: experience in retail, luxury or consumer goods environments; familiarity with GCP or other cloud data platforms.

Skills

Experience

2–3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including data modelling, DAX development and administration of Power BI Service; experience working with cross-functional business stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
