Istituto dei Mestieri d'Eccellenza LVMH seeks Artisanal Leather Goods Apprentices in Florence, Italy — 900‑hour internship with Louis Vuitton and partner Maisons.

Overview

The Istituto dei Mestieri d’Eccellenza LVMH is a training initiative run within the LVMH group to preserve and transmit artisanal know‑how across luxury métiers. It partners with LVMH Maisons — including Bulgari, Céline, Dior, Fendi, Loro Piana and Louis Vuitton — and specialist vocational schools to deliver combined classroom and on‑the‑job training for emerging craftsmen and craftswomen.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Participate in an integrated 900‑hour programme (approximately 500 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction and 400 hours of company placement) focused on artisanal leather goods production.
  • Support the creation and refinement of prototypes under the guidance of model makers and workshop supervisors.
  • Perform leather cutting, assembly and finishing operations with strict adherence to quality and luxury standards.
  • Collaborate with pattern‑making, leather selection and cutting teams to ensure prototype feasibility and production integrity.
  • Attend masterclasses, didactic visits and brand‑focused meetings; study technical terminology in French and English as part of the curriculum.
  • Follow health, safety and workshop procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship, precision and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Lower secondary school diploma (compulsory education). Candidates with only primary education must document three years' verifiable experience in the relevant sector.
  • Residents or domiciliates within the Tuscany region.
  • If non‑EU citizens, possession of a valid work‑authorising residence permit.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity, patience, rigour and precision; strong attention to detail and tactile sensitivity.
  • Successful completion of the selection process: psychometric test, practical test and motivational interview (selection sessions scheduled for 10–11 December 2025).

Experience

No prior professional experience required; suitable for candidates at the start of their craft career. Candidates with limited formal education must provide three years' documented sector experience to qualify.

Lower secondary school diploma (compulsory education); if only primary education, three years' verifiable experience in leatherwork is required.
