Research & Purchasing Specialist — Textile

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

• Create and maintain an up-to-date supplier directory and ensure supplier master data integrity.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain material specifications, technical datasheets and order confirmations; coordinate with Procurement for system data entry.
• Monitor and manage data collection and order lifecycle for prototyping, sampling and allocated budgets, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with product teams to transfer accurate prototyping and sampling material information.
• Administer and track transport documentation for shipments to external workshops and receipts of materials at the Milan site.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to blocked or disputed supplier invoices, liaising with finance and procurement as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing, sourcing or material research within the textile or apparel industry.
• Practical knowledge of the textile supply chain and material specification processes.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and strict prototyping/sampling deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications.

Skills

Experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in textile sourcing, purchasing or materials research, preferably within a luxury apparel or high-end textile environment.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textile Science, Materials Technology, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline preferred.
