Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble handbags autonomously, working with both standard and high-value leathers.
- Read and interpret cartamodelli (patterns) and production instructions accurately.
- Perform leather splitting (spaccatura) and skiving (scarnitura) to specification.
- Execute cutting/trimming (tranciatura) of components with precision.
- Apply adhesives using spray and latex gluing techniques (incollaggio a spruzzo e al lattice).
- Set up, adjust and maintain production machinery used in the preparation phase.
- Ensure all prepared components meet luxury quality standards and production tolerances.
- Transmit artisanal know‑how and coach junior colleagues during on‑the‑job training.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in handbag or leather‑goods preparation; preferably 10+ years in a luxury atelier.
- Demonstrable expertise in luxury Women’s & Men’s bag preparation techniques.
- Deep knowledge of high‑end leathers, notably crocodile (with and without agatatura/finishing).
- Proven ability with spaccatura, scarnitura, tranciatura and spray/latex gluing methods.
- Familiarity with leather‑goods production machinery and basic mechanical set‑up.
- Strong teamwork, communication skills and a willingness to mentor apprentices.
- High attention to detail, manual dexterity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Experience
At least 5 years of hands‑on experience preparing handbags in a leather‑goods production environment; candidates with 10+ years’ experience in the luxury segment are strongly preferred.
Education
Vocational qualification in leathercraft, leather technology, or related artisanal training — or equivalent practical experience acquired in luxury leather‑goods production.
