Istituto dei Mestieri d’Eccellenza LVMH (Loro Piana) — Apprentice in Artisanal Leather Goods, Florence (Internship). 12 positions; dual training with Maison placements.

Overview

The Istituto dei Mestieri d’Eccellenza LVMH is a group-level vocational initiative that preserves and transmits traditional craftsmanship across the Maisons of the LVMH group. Participants receive dual training delivered by partner educational institutions and by luxury Maisons such as Loro Piana, benefiting from hands-on mentorship, master classes and brand-specific immersion within houses renowned for artisanal excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the design and construction of leather goods prototypes under the supervision of senior artisans and modelleria teams.
  • Perform manual operations including leather selection, cutting, skiving, hand and machine stitching, edge finishing and basic assembly to Maison quality standards.
  • Collaborate with pattern-makers (modelleria), cutting and leather departments to translate technical drawings into physical samples.
  • Maintain rigorous attention to detail and execute quality-control checks on materials and finished components.
  • Participate in classroom and laboratory sessions, master classes, guided Maison visits and study of technical terminology in French and English.
  • Document work processes and adhere to workplace safety and material-handling procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Resident or domiciled in a municipality of the Tuscany region.
  • Possession of compulsory education qualification (lower secondary school diploma) or equivalent; candidates with only elementary-level certification must demonstrate three years' proven experience in the sector.
  • If non‑EU citizen, valid residence permit authorising employment is required.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity, patience, precision and strong attention to detail.

Experience

Entry-level (Prima Esperienza). No prior professional experience is required; candidates with informal or vocational experience in leatherwork will be favourably considered.

Education

Completion of compulsory education (lower secondary school diploma). Candidates who hold only an elementary certificate must present three years' documented experience in the leather sector in accordance with regional rules.
