Le Bon Marché — Paris: Commercial Controller (CDI) to manage P&L, budgeting and purchase optimisation across multiple departments.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting process for assigned commercial departments: define market strategy inputs, challenge assumptions and help present the budget to senior management.
  • Monitor department P&L: maintain budgets, update forecasts and reforecasts, and ensure disciplined control of operating expenses including personnel costs.
  • Develop and improve financial and reporting tools to drive transparent performance tracking and decision‑making.
  • Prepare and facilitate regular performance review meetings with Department Directors and Buyers to align actions and corrective plans.
  • Support seasonal buying decisions and OTB management: contribute to purchase envelope setting, support buyers during buying sessions, challenge proposed commitments and monitor stock and sell‑through rates.
  • Produce end‑of‑season reviews, analyse key commercial KPIs, explain variances versus objectives and issue concrete recommendations to optimise results.
  • Contribute to projects impacting commercial space and collaborate closely with the Commercial Control team at La Samaritaine where required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (Bac +5) from a business school or equivalent university qualification with a specialisation in finance or management.
  • Minimum five years’ professional experience in management control, financial performance or commercial controlling, ideally within retail or department store environments.
  • Proven ability to present financial information and run meetings with non‑financial senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical rigour, synthesis capability and attention to detail.
  • Organised, autonomous and able to manage priorities and respect strict deadlines; capacity to take initiative and propose optimisations.
  • Experience in people management is a plus.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in management control, commercial controlling or performance management, preferably in a retail or department store setting. Experience interacting with senior operational stakeholders and supporting buying decisions is required.

Education

Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Business, Finance or equivalent; specialisation in management/control is preferred.
