Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, program and operate CNC milling and turning machines to produce watch cases and bracelets to tight tolerances.
  • Interpret technical drawings and machining specifications to ensure adherence to dimensional and surface‑finish requirements.
  • Perform in‑process inspection using micrometers, calipers and gauges; report and document non‑conformities.
  • Execute part changeovers, tool offsets and machine parameter adjustments to optimize cycle time and quality.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting and collaborate with maintenance/engineering for complex repairs.
  • Work within automated/robotised production lines and coordinate hand‑finishing or secondary operations as required.
  • Maintain production records, follow traceability procedures and comply with safety and quality protocols.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma/technical qualification in mechanical engineering, precision mechanics or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience machining stainless steel and titanium or similar high‑strength alloys.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail appropriate for precision watch or jewellery components.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and good manufacturing practice.

Skills

CNC programming and operation (Fanuc or Heidenhain controllers preferred) Use of precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, height gauge) Technical drawing interpretation and basic GD&T knowledge Machine setup, tool offsetting and cutting parameter optimisation Experience with automated/robotised production lines and fixtures

Experience

Minimum 2 years operating CNC machines in precision metalworking; prior experience in watchmaking, jewellery or luxury component production is highly desirable.

Education

Diploma or vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, precision mechanics, or equivalent technical training.
