Hermès (ATBC) — Weaving Technical Specialist in Bussières. Senior full-time role supporting loom setup, quality and industrialisation.

Overview

Part of Hermès' textile holding (HTH), ATBC (Ateliers de Tissage de Bussières et de Challes) is an industrial, multipurpose weaving site dedicated to high-end fabrics for apparel, furnishing and accessories. HTH coordinates end-to-end textile production across spinning, weaving, printing and finishing and animates specialist fabric marques while sustaining artisanal craft and industrial excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical support to loom setters (gareurs) for machine setup, adjustments and troubleshooting to optimise performance and product quality.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for production teams, supporting multi-skill weavers in preparation of re-sets and maintenance of knotting machines.
  • Lead development trials from initial proof-of-concept through industrialisation in coordination with the workshop manager.
  • Drive continuous improvement of loom settings and production processes to increase yield, reduce defects and shorten lead times.
  • Maintain technical and technological watch over the machine park and recommend upgrades or adaptations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for weaving equipment to ensure production continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE rules: identify and mitigate operational risks, enforce housekeeping and machine safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bac+2 level in electronics, electrotechnics, mechanical engineering, textile weaving or equivalent technical diploma.
  • Minimum 10 years' practical experience in weaving operations as a gareur, assembler (monteur) or loom expert.
  • Deep knowledge of weaving processes, thread crossing, weave structures (armures) and textile materials.
  • Proven ability to conduct machine trials and follow through to industrialisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and teaching skills with proven ability to support and train production teams.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in weaving production: roles such as gareur, monteur, loom expert or equivalent, with a track record of machine setup, troubleshooting and process improvement.

Education

Bac+2 technical diploma (electronics, electrotechnics, mechanics or textile/weaving production) or equivalent.
