Machining Section Manager

Overview

Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the machining team: plan daily tasks, allocate resources, manage absences and interim staffing, evaluate performance and develop technical competencies.
- Deploy and adjust production schedules: define daily machine programmes, distribute workload, monitor outputs and revise production quantities with ordonnancement.
- Monitor operational performance: build and track KPIs (scrap rates, rework, productivity), use feedback to resolve production issues with technicians and operators.
- Drive continuous improvement: participate in pre-industrialisation tests, identify efficiency gains with quality, maintenance, methods and logistics, and propose equipment or layout investments.
- Ensure product quality and safety: enforce quality procedures, deliver corrective actions, train new hires on safety and quality rules and coordinate maintenance priorities with the maintenance team.
- Manage industrial reporting and stakeholder communication: provide regular information to Production Manager and scheduling/planning functions and handle day‑to‑day problem solving.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum three years' experience in an industrial production environment, with proven experience in team management or supervisory duties.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, shop‑floor organisation and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with production ERP systems (ERP de production) and basic industrial IT.
- Knowledge of metal surface treatments; experience with electroplating/galvanoplasty is a strong advantage.

Minimum 3 years in an industrial manufacturing environment, ideally with direct responsibility for supervising production teams and managing daily shop‑floor operations.
