Hermès Cuirs Précieux in Paris seeks an HSE & Sustainability Project Assistant (Apprenticeship) to support HSE, CSRD reporting and sustainability projects.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support deployment of the Group HSE policy across tanneries, advising on major risk control (machine safety, hazardous energies/LoTo, chemical risks, confined space work, subcontractor management, fire and ATEX).
  • Contribute to the operational management of sustainability projects (water reduction & reuse, energy efficiency, waste reduction and recycling/revalorisation, biodiversity and decarbonization initiatives).
  • Assist in the collection, consolidation and critical analysis of HSE and sustainability data for annual reporting and alignment with the Directive CSRD; propose corrective actions where gaps are identified.
  • Conduct site visits, audits and on‑site training; contribute to emergency and crisis‑management preparedness and improvement of occupational health roadmaps (including musculoskeletal disorder prevention).
  • Animate and support the internal network of local HSE correspondents and contribute to internal and external communications to strengthen safety culture and visibility of sustainability topics.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Master’s programme (Bac +5) or engineering school with a specialization in HSE / risk management and seeking an apprenticeship of 12 months starting September 2026.
  • Previous first internship or alternating experience in a corporate HSE or sustainability function is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to liaise across operational and corporate stakeholders.
  • Rigour, structuring capability, adaptability, initiative and analytical curiosity.
  • Working knowledge of HSE regulatory frameworks; familiarity with CSRD-related reporting is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Experience

Beginners accepted; candidate should have completed at least one prior internship or short work placement in an HSE or sustainability context and be seeking a 12‑month apprenticeship at Master’s level.
