CREATION JMC (Hermès Bijouterie) — Design Office Technician (CAD) in Magny‑le‑Hongre, France. Responsible for jewellery CAD modelling and industrialisation.

Overview

CREATION JMC is a specialised, atelier-scale jewellery workshop integrated within H.A.B, the internal manufacturing pole of Hermès Bijouterie. The workshop operates across several French sites and combines artisanal savoir‑faire (polishing, setting, jewellery making) with an in‑house development office and industrialisation expertise to deliver mid and haute joaillerie projects for the Maison.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Model and technically design jewellery products from aesthetic brief through to production, ensuring designs respect the Maison’s creative codes and quality standards.
  • Produce and deliver complete technical data packages and CAD files required for production and internal documentation (finished product plans, industrial plans, engraving and setting plans).
  • Create industrial CAD files: standard components, 3D assemblies, dimensional tolerancing linked to selected manufacturing processes, and theoretical product weight calculations.
  • Validate and inspect first aesthetic and functional prototypes; support and accompany the workshop during prototype trials and pre‑series validation (J1 to pre‑series).
  • Recover, organise and archive CAD data from the Development & Methods office and ensure correct transfer/closure of technical dossiers to ateliers.
  • Coordinate product industrialisation in close partnership with subject‑matter experts, production, project managers and quality teams to secure manufacturability, cost and lead‑time targets.
  • Guarantee the use and updating of Hermès‑referenced chains, components and the finished‑product database (springs, clasps, chains, tooling).
  • Participate in cross‑functional continuous improvement projects (databases, KPIs, internal process flows) and propose technical solutions to improve product and process performance.
  • Integrate rapid prototyping, mock‑up and assembly processes and liaise with foundry and workshop teams to ensure correct technical execution.
  • Work autonomously, respect deadlines, proactively escalate risks and collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Higher technical diploma in mechanical design, industrial product design, or formal training from the jewellery sector (BTS/DUT/Engineering or equivalent vocational qualification).
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' demonstrated experience in product conception/CAD within jewellery or related precision product design.
  • Excellent command of SOLIDWORKS — high level of proficiency is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel for databases and CAD parameterisation.
  • Experience with jewellery industrial fabrication techniques and prototyping (foundry, assembly, setting).
  • Knowledge of free‑form modelling/sculpture software such as RHINO is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, organisational rigour, adaptability and capacity to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good interpersonal skills to manage relations with internal stakeholders and external subcontractors; proactive mindset for continuous skills development and technical improvement.
