Vault Manager
Confidential luxury maison — Paris: Vault Manager (Contract) responsible for secure management of high-value inventory and vault operations.
Overview

The employer operates within the haute couture/leather goods/jewellery retail sphere and maintains exacting standards of discretion, security and client experience consistent with major luxury groups.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily vault operations: receipt, secure storage, movement and release of high-value merchandise and cash.
- Maintain rigorous inventory control through regular reconciliations, cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, access controls and loss-prevention measures in coordination with in-store security and regional teams.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, manifests and audit documentation for internal and external reviews.
- Supervise and train staff assigned to vault operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and confidentiality.
- Coordinate logistics for transfers between store, boutique safe, and central stock or external secure transport providers.
- Act as primary point of contact for internal audits, insurance queries and regulatory compliance related to valuables storage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a vault, safe-room or high-value inventory in luxury retail, jewellery, or watchmaking environments.
- Demonstrable knowledge of cash handling, secure storage practices and loss-prevention methodologies.
- Track record of supervising small teams with emphasis on training, discipline and operational reliability.
- Strong attention to detail and integrity, with the ability to manage confidential operations under pressure.
- Legal eligibility for roles with heightened security requirements (may require background checks).
Skills
Experience
Typically 3+ years of hands-on experience in vault or safe management, inventory control or security operations within luxury retail, jewellery or watch sectors; prior supervisory responsibility preferred.
Education
Secondary education (Baccalauréat or equivalent) required; vocational or tertiary study in business, logistics, retail management or security is an advantage.
