Plastics Technologist / Machine Setter (green-part production)
ETA SA (Swatch Group) in Grenchen seeks a Plastics Technologist / Machine Setter for green-part production. On-site role in precision watch-component manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust and commission injection moulding and related production equipment for green-part/plastics components.
- Perform mould changes, tooling adjustments and machine parameter optimisation to meet quality and output targets.
- Monitor production processes and product quality; execute first-article inspections and in-process checks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, implement corrective actions and document changes in production records.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements, cost reductions and new-product introductions.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and maintain a clean, audit-ready production area.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma/apprenticeship in plastics technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent.
- Practical experience setting up and operating injection moulding equipment; experience with MIM processes advantageous.
- Proven ability to read technical drawings and follow process specifications.
- Strong manual dexterity and familiarity with tooling and mould handling procedures.
Skills
Experience
Typically 2+ years of hands-on experience in injection moulding or plastics production; proven track record in machine setup, tooling changes and process troubleshooting. Prior exposure to MIM or watch-component production is a strong advantage.
Education
Vocational diploma / apprenticeship in plastics technology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or an equivalent technical qualification.
