Overview
ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse is a precision movement and component manufacturer within the Swatch Group. The company is recognized for Swiss Made engineering, high-volume precision production and close collaboration with specialist manufacturing and automation teams across the Group.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support design, integration and programming of mobile robotic systems and stationary industrial robots for watch movement production.
- Participate in commissioning, on-site testing and validation of automation cells and production lines.
- Develop and execute test protocols, collect performance data, and analyse results to optimise processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, user instructions and reports for handover to production teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, automation, quality) to ensure compliance with manufacturing and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering.
- Demonstrable hands‑on project experience with robots, mobile platforms or industrial automation (university projects or laboratory work).
- Basic programming skills and the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Analytical problem‑solving aptitude, methodical testing approach and strong attention to detail.
- Available for an approximately five-month, on-site internship assignment and able to work collaboratively within a production environment.
Skills
Experience
No professional experience required; prior university project work, lab experience or short internships in robotics, automation or industrial controls is an advantage.
Education
Currently enrolled in a relevant engineering degree (BSc or MSc) in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering.
