Christian Dior Couture — Padua: Menswear Prototypist Intern for an 11-month in-person apprenticeship with Accademia HModa and the Maison.
Overview
Christian Dior Couture is a leading French luxury house renowned for haute couture, prêt-à-porter and exceptional atelier craftsmanship. Role & Responsibilities
- Support the creation of menswear prototypes from sketches and technical drawings, translating concepts into first samples.
- Construct and finish sample garments using industrial and hand-sewing techniques, ensuring fidelity to design and quality standards.
- Collaborate with pattern makers, cutters and ateliers to iterate on fit and construction during fittings and reviews.
- Document measurements, technical specifications and production notes for each prototype; maintain sample records and fabric/trims inventory.
- Participate in an 11-month theoretical and practical training programme delivered in partnership with Accademia HModa and Maison Dior, attending classes and practical workshops.
- Implement feedback from designers and technicians to refine prototypes and support pre-production readiness.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Pattern Making or equivalent education.
- Basic understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques and fabric behaviour.
- Manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail in finishing and quality control.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an atelier environment and respond constructively to technical feedback.
- Willingness to commit to an in-person, full-time internship in the Veneto region.
Skills
Experience
Entry-level. First professional experience preferred but not required; suitable for recent graduates or candidates with internship experience, academic projects or hands-on coursework in apparel prototyping, pattern making or technical design.
Education
Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Pattern Making, or equivalent vocational qualification.
