Overview

The Istituto dei Mestieri d’Eccellenza LVMH (LVMH Institute of Excellence) is the Group’s vocational programme dedicated to transmitting artisanal know‑how to new generations through dual training and in‑Maison placements. Working in close partnership with several Maisons — including Bulgari, Celine, Christian Dior Couture, Fendi, Loro Piana and Louis Vuitton — the Institute provides immersive training that combines academic instruction, master classes and practical experience within luxury maisons under the LVMH umbrella.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Learn and execute the construction of leather goods prototypes under the guidance of Maison craftsmen, following established patterns and technical drawings.
  • Perform leather selection, cutting, skiving and preparation of components to Maison standards, maintaining attention to material efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Assemble and finish leather items using hand‑stitching and machine techniques, ensuring impeccable finishing and adherence to quality criteria.
  • Collaborate with pattern‑making, model‑making and cutting teams to iterate prototypes and implement modifications.
  • Document processes, measurements and materials used for each prototype to support reproducibility and quality control.
  • Maintain workshop tools, machines and workstations in full compliance with safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Attend theoretical modules, master classes and technical language sessions (French and English terminology) as part of the integrated curriculum.
  • Participate in in‑Maison internship activities, adapting to professional schedules and the operational requirements of the hosting Maison.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of compulsory secondary education (scuola secondaria di primo ciclo) or equivalent. Candidates with only primary schooling must demonstrate three years of proven sector experience.
  • Residence or domicile in the Tuscany region (eligibility requirement for the regional qualification).
  • If a non‑EU national, possession of a valid residence permit that authorises work activity.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity, patience, precision and a strong attention to detail.
  • Motivation to pursue a professional pathway in luxury leather goods and commitment to a full‑time training schedule.
  • Availability to attend selection tests (psychometric test, practical trial, motivational interview) on the scheduled dates.

Experience

Minimum: completion of compulsory secondary education (scuola secondaria di primo ciclo). Candidates with only primary education must provide proof of three years' relevant sector experience. Residency/domicile in Tuscany and legal right to work in Italy (for non‑EU nationals) are required.
