Christian Dior Couture seeks a Department Manager in Vienna to lead the boutique department, drive sales and coach a luxury retail team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Boutique Manager to define the department’s annual strategic plan, prepare budgets and present store performance at management meetings.
  • Drive sales and profitability for the department by monitoring daily/weekly/monthly KPIs and initiating corrective actions to meet targets.
  • Define departmental objectives and budgets, allocate resources and ensure execution against commercial plans.
  • Develop and supervise the annual marketing and activity calendar in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and ensure flawless implementation of local activations.
  • Recruit, lead, coach and mentor the department team; establish individual objectives and deliver ongoing training to optimise performance and client service.
  • Maintain excellent relations with key suppliers and partners to ensure merchandise flow, product availability and presentation standards.
  • Oversee visual merchandising, inventory control and loss-prevention practices to preserve product integrity and store standards.
  • Foster exceptional clienteling and after-sales service to cultivate long-term relationships and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of retail experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within the luxury sector.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed customer expectations through personalised service and strong client relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated commercial creativity, a refined sense of fashion and solid knowledge of the luxury goods market.
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational and management capabilities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Fluency in German and English; additional languages are an advantage.

Experience

At least 5 years of progressive retail experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a luxury fashion or accessories environment.

Education

Secondary education required; a Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Retail Management or a related discipline is preferred.
