Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the buying and product development teams in seasonal range planning and assortment analysis.
  • Assist with supplier liaison: request samples, follow up on developments, track approvals and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain and update PLM and ERP data related to styles, bill of materials, costing and tech-packs.
  • Prepare purchase orders, monitor order confirmations and ensure on-time delivery through the supply chain.
  • Contribute to costings and margin analysis, consolidating data for buying meetings and management reports.
  • Coordinate internal fit and quality-control sessions; document feedback and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Manage sample logistics between ateliers, showrooms and suppliers, and support showroom merchandising when required.
  • Support ad‑hoc projects such as trend research, material sourcing and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited programme (BTS, Bachelor, or Master) in fashion buying, merchandising, product development, textile technology or equivalent.
  • Eligible for an apprenticeship/alternance contract in France and available for the full duration required by the training programme.
  • Excellent organisational skills, methodical approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Good numerical literacy and capability to work with costing and assortment data.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proactive attitude, curiosity for product and materials, and a collaborative mindset.

Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint Adobe Illustrator PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems ERP systems (e.g., SAP)

Experience

Entry-level — prior internships or work experience in fashion buying, merchandising or product development is advantageous but not mandatory. The role is intended for candidates seeking practical, on-the-job training through an apprenticeship.

Education

Enrolled in a relevant higher-education programme (BTS / Bachelor / Master) in fashion buying, merchandising, product development, textiles or a closely related discipline.
